Splat art

Splat! has been compiled so that you won’t have to search through a stack of books to find ideas for your art work.

Once you have found the basic idea, (the index is linked directly to your selected topic-so no need to scroll through the menu) you can work from this CD or find a book with more detail on the specific topic you are working on.

The activities are under the heading of painting, printing, collage, drawing, dyeing, modelling, paper, fabric threads and puppets, with their aims and objectives and ideas which complement these aims and objectives.

Each activity gives a list of resources and a simplified method. All are simple, easy to conduct and require only a little preparation. Most activities can be simplified or extended according to the individual need within your class.

Also included are some recipes and techniques which you may find useful with some of the activities.

This CD was compiled in the hope that art will not be the daunting experience which teachers often find. It is designed to generate fun experiences as well as giving the pupils (early learners & children with special needs) opportunities to learn, gain confidence and express themselves freely.

Don’t forget that the process is just as, if not more important than, the finished product
